The purpose of the Information Design Portfolio assignment is for you to apply theories and principles of effective information design to a specific research theme.  You will prepare an electronic portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of information design.

Requirements

  1. Select 10 instructional artifacts (audio, video, print, or any combination thereof) and evaluate the effectiveness of each within the context of the theories and principles discussed in this course. Identify each artifact as either an example or non-example of an effective instructional artifact – you must find at least one non-example.
  2. Briefly explain (150-200 words) how the artifact either follows or violates specific theories or principles. If the artifact is a non-example, include 2-3 suggestions that would bring the design into alignment.
  3. Re-design the non-example. Embed or link to your original work, and be prepared to discuss the theories, principles, and/or models that contributed to your redesign.
